Easter

We had perfect weather for Easter - in the 70s and sunny all day long! We were blessed to celebrate at church and then with some friends.

The Flying Hockey Stick

The boys had to make their own flying hockey stick after reading the book Dad got them.

Here they are ready for construction:

Jayden's Health Update

We never imagined we would have such a fabulous winter - especially after such a rough two years. We did have to keep Jayden pretty much out of the public with the exception of our Christmas trip and he is a bit sick right now, but nothing we can't deal with.

We visited GI and they said he was almost 25 pounds now and maybe in about 6 months we can start weaning him off of some of his nutritional supplements. We visit Pulmonology next week, but it looks like we should be able to start bringing him out as we would with a normal kid and probably cut out the nursing, which would be great for us.

His breathing issues are still the same but hopefully they may begin to improve at some point. He is very able to sit through his neb treatments on his own after we set it up and he doesn't fight the IPV treatments near as much usually, so that is definitely helpful.

Hope your winter has been full of as much health! I can't say we missed our overnights in the hospital in the least:)

Babies and Bikes

Ethan showing off his snazzy church outfit and his Buzz Lightyear socks. Jim said the outfit looked like something a professor would wear, except maybe the socks.

Ethan and Jayden have been practicing for the new baby with their babies. They even got to swaddle them and feed them.

Ethan was showing Jayden his baby.

And of course had to take pictures of everyone holding his baby. Here he is imitating mom and making sure the pictures turned out ok. He told us they all turned out GREAT!

Jayden got to try out the tricycle while Ethan and daddy were gone. He thought it was pretty neat.

Snow Day!

We got about 20 inches of snow yesterday, 16 or so on Saturday, which all together just adds up to a LOT of snow! The boys had a blast, Jim got work off yesterday and something like a half day today and we got lucky by not losing electricity (even though we lost Internet and TV)and enjoyed the beautiful views from inside our house. The snow was heavy and bent the trees down in our back yard until they were touching the ground - I don't think we had many break though, unlike our neighbors.

Ethan with Daddy during the storm ....

Jayden catching snowflakes on his tongue.

The boys and their snowman. The snowman was built on the driveway after daddy shoveled so by the time we went out it was only 4 - 6 inches. It was pretty funny looking - Frosty behind the car with his hands out. I didn't get a pic before Jim relocated the snowman. He said he thought about driving over him as quickly as possible but didn't want to disappoint the boys;). Instead frosty now resides on top of one of the curbs of snow in our front yard.

One Year Mark

Yesterday we celebrated Jayden being hospital free for a year. It was huge! At this time last year I was so worn down and thought we would never make it to this point. We made yummy cookies (which the boys happily ate) and played in our snow and just enjoyed the day together.

He still has a ton of meds and therapies and nursing, but he has made it to the five percent in weight and nutrition is even talking about letting us cut down on the nutritional drinks in a few months. We are going to work on backing off the meds in the Spring and see where that leaves us.

He hasn't had a smooth beginning, but we are blessed by what a winter we have had so far.
